What is the new Capital Allowances Offer?

In the Spring Budget 2021, the UK government announced two new capital allowance opportunities to assist economic growth and encourage business investment. The scheme means that companies who invest in plant and machinery such as lighting systems may qualify for a limited time tax-saving which will end on the 31st of March 2023. This could significantly benefit businesses throughout the UK who are eager to invest in LED’s but aren’t sure if the benefits add up. Now more than ever LED lighting will allow your business to benefit from enhanced lighting with the added bonus of reducing tax at the same time.

What Are The Benefits My Business Could Recieve?

Lighting Investments that meet the criteria could be eligible for a 50% first-year allowance. For every £10,000 invested in lighting, a £5000 year-one tax deduction could be available compared to the normal £600 deduction that would be offered to you under normal circumstances. Emergency Lighting

Emergency lighting is lighting that works when there is a mains supply failure. It is a failsafe measure to ensure continued on-site safety and protect the occupants of a building.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, businesses must install emergency lighting in their premises by law.

BS EN 1838 specifies escape and standby lighting requirements for businesses in the event of a power failure.

It is a legal requirement that all commercial properties must have installed an approved emergency lighting system that must be correctly installed and regularly tested. The design, installation and operation are subject to a wide range of safety regulations created to ensure that provide occupants with a potentially life-saving route safely out of the building.

Escape route lighting not only illuminates the escape route but will also ensure the route remains lit to a sufficient level to allow people to exit the building via a clearly defined route. This includes emergency exit signs and any lighting placed along the designated escape route.

Emergency Lighting Specialists

At Qudos we understand the importance of having a high spec, reliable emergency lighting system installed. Our experience and expertise ensure that we can provide the best installation that meets all legal requirements.

Our emergency lighting solutions will not only improve your compliance and confidence in your system but will significantly reduce running and maintenance costs.

As well as installation of emergency lighting, we also offer maintenance and testing packages to keep you compliant and keep employees and occupants safe.

If you need any more information we can provide expert advice on emergency lighting designs that meet the current standards, using the latest technology that perfectly suits your requirements.
